Terms of Service — Become
Last updated: 2026-06-05 Effective date: 2026-06-05 Contact: privacy@become.app
These terms are written in good faith and in plain language. They are not legal advice and have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer — they are a starting point pending formal review. Where these terms and the Privacy Policy overlap, the Privacy Policy governs how your data is handled.
Become ("Become", "we", "us", "our") provides a daily identity-practice app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Who can use Become
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher, to use the Service. By using Become you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know at privacy@become.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You can sign out, change your password, and delete your account at any time from the in-app Settings screen.
What Become is — and is not
Become is a self-improvement and habit-practice tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, or crisis care. The identity statements, daily Moves, and coaching are generated to encourage reflection and small consistent action — they are not professional advice.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or others, contact local emergency services. In the United States, you can call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) at any time. Crisis resources are also linked from the in-app Settings screen.
AI-generated content
Become uses AI models (provided by Anthropic) to generate text based on what you write. AI output can be wrong, generic, or unexpected. Use your own judgment, and do not rely on the Service for any decision that requires professional expertise. You are responsible for how you act on anything the Service shows you.
Acceptable use
When using Become, you agree not to:
- break the law or use the Service to harm others;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
- disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities outside a
responsible-disclosure context;
- submit content you do not have the right to submit.
We may suspend or end access that violates these Terms or puts the Service or other people at risk.
Your content
The identity statements, Moves, reflections, and other text you enter are yours. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content only so we can operate the Service for you — for example, to show your history and to generate your statement, Moves, and coaching. We do not sell your content. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on data handling and sub-processors.
Subscriptions and payments
Some features may require a paid subscription. Where subscriptions are offered, purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and your subscription status is managed through RevenueCat. Billing, renewals, price changes, refunds, and cancellations are governed by the store you purchased through; manage or cancel your subscription in that store's account settings. We never receive your full payment-card details.
You can restore previous purchases from the Settings screen where the platform supports it.
Cancelling and deleting
You can stop using Become at any time. Deleting your account from Settings removes your profile, daily entries, and entitlement records from our database, as described in the Privacy Policy. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Service changes and availability
We are actively building Become and may add, change, or remove features. We may also have downtime. We do not promise the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your needs or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for any purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Become will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
